Hanging out with LEaD participants

If you have read any of our prayer letters through the last 8-9 months, you know that we have traveled many times to Palmer, to InterAct’s Lazy Mountain campus, to assist with AFJ (Alaska Freedom Journey) training modules.  James attends and assists in the classes, and our whole family has been blessed to become acquainted with several Native leaders and leaders-in-training both who come for the AFJ modules as well as the four LEaD Alaska participants who are were residence there.

Dani and Rachel (directed and assisted by Mom) have thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to be the cooks during each of these 4.5-day sessions:  breakfast, lunch, dinner with dessert, and two snacks per day!  Since there are usually 14-18 people to cook for, they are able to do homestyle meals; they cook from scratch and lay out great spreads.  Christa and Jared occasionally help out with cleanup and setup and generally spread good cheer, along with Timothy.  🙂  (Somehow, we managed not to  get any pictures of the girls hard at work!)

It is a joy to become involved in the lives of others, to see what God is doing in them, and to look forward to how they will impact Alaska for the Lord.
